Crush Your Content: 3 Ways to Keep Your Audience Coming Back for More
Whether you're a new blogger or a professional writer, the importance of quality content will always prevail.
Building an enormous following is fantastic, but these metrics lose their importance if they don't serve your overarching objective.
Your number of followers can help establish credibility on a surface level, but your growth and influence is ultimately dependent on your unique value.
So instead of obsessing over your numbers or page views, let's focus on what really matters: creating quality content.
Here are 3 tips for developing content that intrigues your audience, and keeps them coming back for more:
Offer a healthy mix of expertise and authenticity.
People choose to follow an influencer for a variety of reasons. The person could be a notable expert in their field, or simply someone with an admirable sense of fashion or willpower.
However, one aspect remains consistent - and that's the influencer's ability to be genuine and relatable.
Your content should address a topic that your audience cares about, but it should be communicated in a convenient, friendly manner.
Don't be straight-forward and preachy. Do make it clear that you're here to help.
Weave personal examples and experiences into your writing, and share peeks into your daily life to help your readers feel like they truly know you.
As critical as it is to offer content of value, never neglect the importance of giving it a personal touch.
Use your words wisely.
In our current SEO-fixated culture, we focus primarily on utilizing keywords that will appear via searches.
While I'm not advising you to forget about SEO, I am suggesting that you consider an additional factor when it comes to your word choice.
Think about articles that you've clicked on when mindlessly scrolling through your Facebook or Twitter feed.
Did you click the article because you're interested in the topic? Sure, but there's more to it.
With an abundance of content available to us, we have room to be selective. We choose content that grabs our attention.
To truly intrigue readers, you need a title that stands out.
If the title of this blog post was "How to Write Quality Content", would you have clicked it? I know I wouldn't.
Don't underestimate the power of catchy phrases and meaningful prose.
In this competitive content environment, you need to separate yourself from the pack. Switching up your word choice can be a simple swap with major impact.
Find your hot content, and turn up the heat.
The concept of "niche-ing down" is often easier said than done, especially since many of us are passionate about several different subjects.
If you're having trouble deciding, let your analytics be the judge.
Take time to observe the Google Analytics for your blog, or the insights on your Instagram business page.
Which posts have performed the best? What about the worst? Was there a week where your traffic jumped significantly? What did you do different that week?
Once you've identified your top-performing content, use these findings to lead your content strategy.
Tackle the topics that are resonating with your audience, and bring back that content full-throttle.
Because when it comes down to it, your followers are more than just your fans. They commit to keeping up with you, and you commit to them by providing the content they need and love.
And sometimes doing a little digging is the best way to maintain that loyalty.

Great post and your heading is just eye-catching. This is a short yet informative post which reminds us bloggers to always add in our personal touch instead of being heavily driven by statistics and other blogging rules that make you loose your own voice. Thanks for sharing.

These are great tips! When I was first blogging everything sounded like a book report. Now I talk like I'm having a conversation to try and connect with the 'person' reading.

Great tips! I’m definitely going to work on making my post titles more eye catching. Right now they are very matter of fact (and probably a little boring. Lol).

Great points. Definitely, agree about improving blog titles - I've changed them up a few times and they make such an incredible difference. The content doesn't matter if you can't get people to get to the post in the first place!

I needed this today, thank you so much for sharing! Great points about SEO - honestly I've found it happens naturally if you don't focus on it quite so much. I hate for anything I say to sound inorganic. You definitely have it down. :)

Great post. I am so happy that you clearly prioritize quality over everything else. No matter how viewed a post is, if it doesn't catch your attention, people won't return again.

Really useful guide. I have trouble with my headlines and am trying to think up more catchy, click-worthy ones. I have no problem writing 3000 words but that top sentence I always struggle with.
